SOLO Taxonomy (Structure of Observed Learning Outcomes), developed by Biggs and Collis (1982), describes the quality of a learner's understanding of a topic through five increasingly complex levels: prestructural, unistructural, multistructural, relational, and extended abstract. It helps teachers assess how well students understand (depth and complexity), not merely whether they know facts. It is used for designing assessments and providing qualitative feedback.
