Syllabus Details

The NEET 2026 exam is a 3-hour-20-minute (200 minutes) offline test consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), of which 180 must be answered, for a total of 720 marks. The test comprises Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology) with +4 for correct answers and -1 for wrong answers.

  • Total Questions: 200 (180 to be attempted).
  • Duration: 3 hours 20 minutes (200 minutes).

Subject-Wise Question & Mark Distribution

The test is divided into Sections A and B for each subject.

  • Physics: 45 Questions (35 in Section A + 10 out of 15 in Section B) = 180 Marks.
  • Chemistry: 45 Questions (35 in Section A + 10 out of 15 in Section B) = 180 Marks.
  • Botany: 45 Questions (35 in Section A + 10 out of 15 in Section B) = 180 Marks.
  • Zoology: 45 Questions (35 in Section A + 10 out of 15 in Section B) = 180 Marks.

Marking Scheme and Negative Marking

  • Correct Answer: \(+4\) marks.
  • Incorrect Answer: \(-1\) mark (negative marking).
  • Unanswered Question: 0 marks.
  • Multiple Answers: Treated as incorrect (-1 mark).
